APRIL 5th is a conspicuous day for our family. Today, April 5, 2021 is my wife’s 64th birthday. Two evenings ago, being a saturday, all our children, their spouses and grandchildren held a surprise birthday dinner at the reputable Chef Wan’s restaurant, Kuala Lumpur. It was a total surprise for her. I was whispered about the event a day earlier, and thanks god I was able to play dumb right to the door of the private room where everyone was waiting for her arrival. A joyous event indeed. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAYANG.
Her birthday is so meaningful for the family. Besides remembering her date of birth, it marks another very important milestone in her life. On April 5, 2015 she was diagnosed and confirmed with a stage 4 lung cancer. It’s her 6th CANCERVESARY today. Alhamdulillah.
I intend to pen down our experience and her journey over the last six years through a cancerlog. In fact I have been toying with the idea for quite sometime. It has yet to materialise. I hope soon. So much incidents, stories, new knowledge, supportive family, understanding oncologists and friends to be recorded.
